After
using wires and cables for a long time, the surface wires will
gradually corrode and age. How to continue using aging wires poses
significant safety hazards, which requires us to master some methods to
promptly determine whether the wires are aging.
1.
It refers to observing the insulation layer along the wire, and if it
is found that the insulation layer has lost its luster, darkened,
hardened, cracked, or partially detached. When bending the insulated
wire with both hands, the wire becomes stiff, and even the insulation
layer cracks or falls off, indicating that the wire has undergone
varying degrees of aging and severe aging.
2.
To accurately determine the insulation status of the circuit, an
insulation resistance meter can be used to measure the insulation of the
electrical circuit.
3.
The insulation of different lines has different minimum allowable
values. For example, for a household 220V line in use, the minimum
insulation resistance should be 0.22 megaohms, and the value should not
be less than 0.1 megaohms in rainy and humid days. If the measured
insulation resistance value is less than the above value, it indicates
that there is a problem with the insulation of the electrical line.
